Varenyky Fillings

There are a variety of fillings that can be used to stuff your varenyky.  The most common is potato and cheese (such as grated cheddar, cottage cheese, ricotta). However, other favourite fillings include mushrooms, cabbage (sauerkraut),and buckwheat.  You can also serve varenyky as a dessert and fill them with fruit such as apple, pear, raisins, and my favourite, prunes with finely chopped walnuts.

The choices for fillings really are endless – try whatever you think will be tasty.

Can you imagine chocolate covered cherries wrapped in a soft dough, slathered with rich Devonshire cream!
