Our New Puppy

Just too cute!

Spike's Pet Finder photo. Spike’s Pet Finder photo. Our Monday afternoon was a cross between the shows, “Too Cute,” and “The Puppy Bowl.”

We got Princess Buttercup out of school (early…yes, we played hooky!) and went to the Jackson County, Alabama animal shelter and picked up our new puppy, Spike.

Spike and his brothers and sisters were found in a vacant lot underneath a pile of wooden pallets. Their dad is a chocolate lab, and their mommy dog is a black lab mix.

Spring Time Recipes!

With Summer just days away, check out some of the new Ukrainian recipes in my Pages section of this blog.  The rhubarb is ready and the beets are growing and producing fresh green leaves just in time for making the Beet Leaf Rolls.  I hope you enjoy eating them as much as I enjoy making them for My Man!

Happy Father’s Day !

20140615-114148-42108514.jpg
Best wishes to all dads today!
There are a lot of blogs and information on the net regarding Father’s Day so I’ve decided to honour my late dad, my husband and all other important men in my life, my sons, brother, cousins, and friends…maybe even you…insert your name here…by publishing an old-fashioned Rhubarb Crisp recipe. This crisp is one that mom would make for my dad on his birthday and on Father’s Day!  It’s a special occasion recipe for someone special!
Check out the recipe on my pages Not So Traditional Foods!
